The Elroq is equipped with state-of-the-art driver-assistance systems that keep not only you and your passengers, but also pedestrians, cyclists and other road users, safe.
In the event of an accident, the occupants are protected by a sturdy body with generous crumple zones and up to 9 airbags, delivering finely-tuned interaction with three-point automatic seat belts and safety head restraints. Other safety features include modern electronic systems designed to mitigate the consequences of an accident, such as multi-collision braking and optional Crew Protect Assist front and rear.
The Front Assist is a collision-alert safety system. Faced with an unavoidable collision, it applies the brakes to minimise the consequences. It also performs an emergency stop if a pedestrian or cyclist attempts to cross the path of the car. The system also registers pedestrians and cyclists travelling in the same direction as the car and, in relation to these road users, uses the same warning and braking process as that applied to vehicles ahead.
This system works in conjunction with a camera to recognise lane markings on the road, including yellow lines during roadworks, traffic cones, and other roadside or lane borders.
This safety feature is another of Side Assist's complementary functions. Exit Warning visually and acoustically warns the driver and other passengers, when, for example, they are exiting parallel parked car, if opening the door could result in a collision with another vehicle, a cyclist, an electric scooter or a jogger. Exit Warning makes use of Side Assist's rear radars and monitors area behind and along the sides of the car up to a distance of 40m.
The system pre-tensions the front seat belts in the event of imminent collision or in unstable driving situations and engages with the ESC to close the side windows almost fully in order to prevent foreign objects from entering the vehicle. The system works with the front and rear radars.

Regenerative braking is a process where the vehicle's kinetic energy is converted into electricity, and stored in the battery. Cars convert kinetic energy from the friction between brake pads and brake discs into heat. Regenerative braking makes efficient use of this energy and helps to increase the range of the Elroq by partially recharging the battery while the car is driving.

The Worldwide Harmonized Light-Duty Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP) is designed to provide a standardised measurement and enables the consumer to make reliable comparisons between vehicles in terms of energy (fuel and/or electricity) consumption, emissions, and electric vehicle range. However, it should be noted that the results of this test may not accurately reflect the actual fuel consumption, emissions, or range that a driver might experience in the real world. Actual results may vary depending on various factors such as driving style, road conditions, temperature, weather, vehicle load, and maintenance. Therefore, the WLTP results should be considered as an indicator of the vehicle's performance and not as a guarantee of the actual energy consumption, emissions, or range that a driver will experience in real-world driving conditions, or for making a vehicle-to-vehicle comparison. All WLTP test values are provided in accordance with New Zealand Land transport Rule: Vehicle Efficiency and Emissions Data 2022.
